The challenge
Playoff Finals Weekend brings teams, officials and media together in one place, so getting accommodation right is essential to the event running smoothly.
Two months before the weekend, the Elite League learned that its booked accommodation had been cancelled after the hotel went into administration. With no rooms for teams, officials or media, the league needed a replacement quickly, and one that could take everyone.
Solution
The league contacted Sports Pro Travel who then approached a range of accommodation providers, looking for a property that could host the full group rather than splitting teams, officials and media across different locations.
One provider was able to accommodate all the teams, officials and media at short notice, giving the league a single, workable solution well ahead of the event.
Results
The league's accommodation was fully resolved well ahead of the weekend. Mark Brooks, Head of Commercial Operations, was very grateful for how quickly the situation was turned around, which let the league focus on the event itself rather than on a last minute search for rooms.
The work sits within a wider partnership that has run across several seasons, supporting the league, its teams and its fans. Reflecting on that relationship, Mark added:
"The Motorpoint Elite League have really enjoyed working with Sports Pro Travel over the past few seasons. They've been a reliable and proactive partner, always providing a high level of service to both the league, our teams and fans. Their flexibility, attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile have made them a valued part of our league, especially Playoff Finals Weekend, and we look forward to continuing to build the partnership in the years ahead."
