The challenge

Hockey Ireland's High-Performance teams travel internationally throughout the year for major tournaments, competitions and preparation camps, often in large groups and to tight schedules.

In June, a group travelling from Amsterdam to Berlin arrived at their destination to find that some of the group's luggage had not arrived with them. With a team on the ground and no kit or belongings, the priority was to find out where the luggage was and get it to them as quickly as possible.

Solution

Sports Pro Travel was notified straight away, and the team immediately got in touch with the airline to find out what had happened and where the luggage was.

Just as important, the team kept the client informed throughout. They passed on updates on where the luggage was and when it would be delivered to the hotel, so the group were never left guessing.

Results

The group appreciated being kept up to date at every stage and told Sports Pro Travel they valued the support throughout. Clear, proactive communication turned a stressful arrival into a managed situation.

It is the kind of support Hockey Ireland relies on across its eight High-Performance teams. Christine O'Shea, High-Performance Manager, says:
